New situations are often awkward for all involved.
Daddy, We’re Okay is a follow-up to Okay to Cry. Starr and her mother are adjusting to life without Starr’s dad. Starr makes friends with her new neighbor, Katie, who is adjusting to a new town and a new school. Starr helps Katie, which also helps herself in continuing life after her dad’s death.
Katie looked scared. Starr touched her shoulder.
“They looked at me the same way after my dad died,” she told Katie. “They don’t know what to say or do.”
Daddy, We're Okay is a story about the power of friendship and how to handle new situations.
